English for Cambridge University exams
• Summer 2012 Cambridge exam preparation courses
International House also prepares its students for external exams, those given by important educational institutions. The best known for English are those from the University of Cambridge: First Certificate (FCE), Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) and Certificate of Proficiency (CPE).
The courses offered in preparation for these exams can be followed during the normal academic year (nine months) or in intensive courses, with the same number of hours but in a shorter period of time [timetables and prices].
Students who satisfactorily complete the prerequisites of these courses and who reach the level demanded, but who do not wish to do the external exam, can obtain a certificate from International House which states that they have reached the required level.
The written exam usually takes place during the first two weeks of December, march or June - depending on the exam sitting. The oral and listening exams are usually a few weeks before the written exams — however, sometimes they may be afterwards.
