Preparation for Cambridge Exams
As well as preparing our students for Cambridge ESOL exams for many years, International House Tarragona is now also a Cambridge ESOL Authorised Centre. This means that we are authorised to organise these exams in the centre of Tarragona.
Not only our own students, but external students, too, can register for these exams with us. Some of our teachers are official Cambridge examiners.
Cambridge ESOL qualifications are recognised by many universities, educational institutions and companies and attest to a person’s level of spoken and written English.
Teenagers and adults can prepare for the following exams: KET, PET, FCE (First Certificate), CAE and CPE (Proficiency). To boost the possibilities of obtaining a good grade in these exams, it is important to be familiar with exam technique and the type of questions that can appear. For that reason, these exams require specific preparation.
To help stimulate the learning of English among children and equip them with a sound knowledge of basic concepts, there are also exams for Younger Learners: Starters, Movers and Flyers. These exams cannot be passed or failed. The children who take them receive a certificate with a number of shields. The greater the number of shields obtained, the better the level of English demonstrated in the exam.
At International House Tarragona we have preparatory courses over nine months (October to June) for teenagers (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday in the evening) and for adults, (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday at midday or in the evening).
