About Sabadell
Sabadell is the second largest city in the comarca of the Vallès Occidental in Catalonia, Spain, and is home to 200,000 residents. It is based 20 km north-west of Barcelona.
Sabadell famously led the Industrial Revolution in Catalonia with its textile mills, becoming the most important wool city in the whole of Spain and earning itself the title of the "Catalan Manchester".
Nowadays, however, Sabadell is basically a commercial and industrial city.

Culture in Sabadell
Sabadell is a city with an outstanding artistic tradition. It is headquarters to one of the most important orchestras in Catalonia, the Vallès Symphony Orchestra, and one of the more active operative groups, Amics de l’Òpera.
Every year Sabadell organises 3 festivals, with a varied programme including theatre, dance, music & cinema.
Sports in Sabadell
During the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games, Sabadell was one of the cities where the football competition took place. The Nova Creu Altra Stadium was used to play the matches. This stadium is home to one of the most important of the city’s football clubs: Centre d’Esports Sabadell. The local team have actually played 14 seasons in the top division (Primera División), once in the UEFA cup and one in the final of the Copa del Rey.
The other important sports clubs dominating the city are Club Natació Sabadell-CNS (Waterpolo & Swimming Club), the Unión Excursionista de Sabadell-UES & the Imaje-Sabadell-Gaspa basketball team.
