Teaching qualifications
The CELTA course that we offer is probably the most-widely recognised initial English language (ELT) teaching qualification in the world.
For anyone thinking of entering the ELT profession -- and hoping to find work in a reputable language school -- it is a fairly essential requirement. A good language school really shouldn't employ you if you don't have CELTA or an equivalent.
Other qualifications
As many jobs in English teaching involve at least some hours teaching young learners, there is also a two-week CELTA extension course, which is designed to familiarise you with the theory and techniques involved in teaching children to speak a foreign language.
Once you have had at least two years' teaching experience after CELTA, you may also want to think about doing the DELTA course, particularly if you want to make ELT your career.
