ELT Trainer Training Course

Trainer training: becoming a trainer of teachers

Training training

This 30-hour International House certificated course is designed for experienced teachers who are interested in becoming teacher trainers in pre-service and/or in-service contexts.

The course aims to give an overview of what can be expected in a teacher trainer's job, and sessions are designed to give participants an understanding of issues involved in this role.

Course content

Areas covered include the following and are designed to address differing training contexts such as pre-service, in-service and with native English teachers or non-native English teachers as much as is possible on a short introductory course.

Requirements

Applicants should have good teaching qualifications and extensive experience of teaching EFL to a wide variety of levels, and preferably to all types of student: adult, children, Business, etc.

Please note this course is also open to non-native applicants with an advanced level of English.

Certification

Candidates will be awarded an International House Teacher Training Certificate at the end of the course.

The trainer training course is designed to complement the Director of Studies training course, which runs in the previous week.

The special discounted price for those who take both courses is €1,015.

Enrolment procedure

All applicants must complete an application form and return it to International House Barcelona.

On acceptance for the course, the deposit is due. The balance must be paid at least four weeks before the course begins.

Cancellations

Refunds will not be given except in exceptional circumstances, and only then if notice is sufficient to allow for the finding of a substitute candidate.
