Technologies for Project Work in the English Classroom

Image | Examples of actual coursework done by participants
Course aimed at:
Secondary and EOI English teachers who are interested in making better use of a variety of technologies in their classroom.
You should have some experience of using computers (for example how to create a Word document, send an email, find something on the Internet...) but no prior experience of using classroom technology is necessary. Teachers who do have some experience with technology will nevertheless still find the course of practical use.
The course will be taught entirely in English.
Objectives
- To examine how we should use technology in language classes

Course content
The course has a particular emphasis on how we can use technology for communicative purposes and project work and looks at such things as blogs and blogging, animation and cartoon makers, digital cameras, digital coursebooks, Edmodo, interactive whiteboards (IWBs), online games, podcasting, using PowerPoint and having learners use webquests.
Part of the course is devoted to participants proposing a project that they could use with their own actual learners.
There will also be discussion of how we should use technology in order to develop key competences.
A pre-course needs analysis will allows us, to some extent, to tailor the course contents to meet the participants' needs and interests.
