The IHLS Group

The IHLS Group consists of twelve companies, each of which is dedicated to language teaching. There are ten language schools in the Group, based in four different countries:

In Spain:

• International House Barcelona
• International House Palma de Mallorca
• International House Mataro
• International House Sabadell
• International House Tarragona
• International House Terrassa
• International House Zaragoza

In Mexico:

• International House Riviera Maya

In Colombia:

• International House Bogotá

In Northern Ireland:

• International House Belfast

The oldest of these schools, International House Sabadell, was established in 1972. The newest, International House Belfast, opened in April 2007.

All of the language schools in the IHLS Group offer English courses; most offer at least one other language, including Spanish, French, German, Italian and Chinese.

We are also one of Europe's leading language teacher training organizations, for both English (ELT/TEFL) and Spanish teachers.

There is a connection between our language and teacher training courses: we choose the best of our trainees to work for us afterwards - which means that we continue to do what we know best: providing quality language courses.

Also part of the Group

In addition to our language schools, the IHLS Group also includes Net Languages – one of the world's leading Web-based language schools.

The group also has a Study Abroad agency called International House Language Services (IHLS).

IHLS also acts as the holding company for the Group.

The Viva Group

The IHLS Group also incorporates the VIVA Group which is a brand name used to promote those schools in the IHLS Group that offer Spanish courses to students from abroad.

Shareholders and Directors The principle shareholders of the IHLS Group are: Carmen Rodríguez, Ferran Bargallo and Jonathan Dykes.

Board of Directors These three individuals also constitute the IHLS Group's Board of Directors. The Chairman of the Group is Ferran Bargallo; the Group's Chief Executive is Jonathan Dykes; the Financial Director is Lidia Carnicé.

Personnel Other key personnel include Carmen Sánchez, Marketing Director for the Group; Tom Walton, Webmaster; and Sam Whiteley, Head of Teacher Training.

The headquarters of the IHLS Group is in Barcelona, Spain.
